About the Division of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion

West Virginia University is one of the only universities of our size in the nation to encompass a Division of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. The principle of social justice includes the legal and moral obligations to promote opportunity, equality, civility, and respect for all people. The Division of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion is charged with communicating, teaching, and promoting these principles throughout the extended academic community and society, as well as fulfilling the relevant legal standards related to civil rights and affirmative action. The Division of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion is the first stop for many: an International student arriving on campus for the first time, a faculty member seeking mediation information and services, or university departments seeking leadership for education, promotion, and awareness on a broad range of relevant issues. We accomplish this in many ways, and invite you to learn more about our many roles on campus and in the community.

The staff members of the Division of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion are here to serve you. Our main offices are located on the ground floor (basement) of Stewart Hall on the Downtown Campus of West Virginia University.
