    What I Do: As the Assistant Vice President, Dr. Lopez will lead the Division’s efforts to create, coordinate, administer and evaluate programming that is inclusive and supportive in order to achieve a sustainable environment that will attract and retain diverse and underserved faculty, staff and students.

    Bio: Dr. Samuel Lopez is the Assistant Vice President for Diversity Initiatives for the Division of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion at West Virginia University. As the Assistant Vice President, Dr. Lopez will lead the Division’s efforts to create, coordinate, administer and evaluate programming that is inclusive and supportive in order to achieve a sustainable environment that will attract and retain diverse and underserved faculty, staff and students.

    What I Do: James serves as the Director of Equity Assurance and WVU's Title IX Coordinator, providing leadership for investigations conducted by the Division of Diversity, Equity, And Inclusion, and serves as a resource to WVU on matters of discrimination, harassment, and social justice.

    Bio: James Goins currently serves as the Director of Equity Assurance and the Title IX Coordinator in the Division of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.

  • Jacqueline L. Sikora, BS, JD

    What I Do: Jacqueline is a Senior Investigator with the Division of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. Jacqueline conducts investigations in response to complaints made to the Office of Equity Assurance. Jacqueline also provides information, consultation, counseling and training to WVU students and employees in the areas of illegal discrimination and harassment.

Cindy also provides information, consultation, and training to WVU students and employees in the areas of illegal discrimination and harassment.

    Bio: A native of Morgantown, Dave earned his Bachelor of Science (B.A.) in Sport Behavior from West Virginia University in 2001.

    What I Do: Courtney conducts investigations in response to complaints made to the Office of Equity Assurance. He also provides information, consultation, counseling and training to WVU students and employees in the areas of illegal discrimination and harassment.

    Bio: A native of south Florida, Courtney attended Florida Agricultural & Mechanical University, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Criminal Justice with a concentration in Legal Studies, along with another Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Spanish in 2009.

    Bio: Dr. Rodrigues has a diverse background in Higher Education, given her various experiences as instructor, researcher, and administrator.

    What I Do: Jill serves as the ADA Coordinator, and provides services and accommodations to employees with disabilities on all WVU campuses.

    Bio: As a proud West Virginia resident, Jill has worked at WVU since 2004.

    What I Do: Mariana assists in providing Title IX training to students, faculty and staff, coordinating the WVU Peer Advocate Program, and organizing the University’s “It’s On Us” campaign. Mariana also serves as a private resource to students, faculty or staff who have been involved in Title IX related incidents.

    Bio: Mariana is a proud alumna of West Virginia University in 2011 and 2013. She joined the Equity Assurance team in November 2015 and loves educating students, faculty, and staff about Title IX.

    What I Do: Carol is the case manager and coordinator for all complaints made to the Office of Equity Assurance. She assists investigators and works to ensure compliance with federal guidelines and WVU regulations.

    Bio: Carol has been licensed as a Licensed Professional Counselor in West Virginia since 2010.

    What I Do: Advances the strategic goals of the Office of Innovative Inclusion and Outreach with the Division of Diversity

    Bio: Robert Lyons joined the Division of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in May of 2002. Since that time he has served in a variety of roles supporting the University’s diversity and inclusion efforts. He began service in his current post as of fall 2016 when the Office of Innovative Inclusion and Outreach was created.
