NAACP hosts One Morgantown Community

The West Virginia University Chapter of NAACP hosts One Morgantown Community; an overnight event to spread awareness for homelessness and hunger. The event will go from 6:00 pm to 8:00 am on the Mountainlair Green with four parts to the event though strongly encouraged, each is not required. 

The agenda is as follows:

Thursday, November 17, 2016
  • 6:00 pm: Assemble care packages
  • 7:00 pm: Distribute care packages to High Street and surrounding areas
  • 7:30 Food will arrive while participants are Downtown
  • 8:00 pm: “Grass Discussion”—an opportunity to hear stories from members of the community, learn about services available in Morgantown, and ask questions
  • 10:00 pm: Assembles boxes/tents for the sleep out
Friday, November 18, 2016
  • 9:00 am: Distribute remaining care packages to the Friendship Room, Ronald McDonald House and other locations, and have the opportunity to volunteer downtown
