Colloquium XVII for Aspiring Underrepresented Doctoral Candidates

The Colloquium for Aspiring Underrepresented Doctoral Candidates is designed to promote graduate education at West Virginia University to prospective and current minority graduate students, in particular, from the immediate Appalachian region.

This year's Colloquium XVII is scheduled for  October 22-24, 2017

The 2017 Colloquium Application can be completed online HERE. **The application deadline is Sept. 15, 2017.

The Colloquium is a three-day event for underrepresented (African American, Hispanic and Native American) high-achieving students who are completing a bachelor's degree or are enrolled in a master's program.

Individuals who have graduated but are not currently enrolled at a higher education institution are also invited to attend to explore the possibilities of graduate study at WVU.

The Colloquium is an opportunity to familiarize students with academic programs, admission standards, and ways of funding graduate education at West Virginia University, and is the primary source utilized to recruit students to the Chancellor’s Scholars Program. It also provides an opportunity to encourage potential graduate students to consider the various academic career possibilities.

WVU will provide hotel accommodations and meals for participants October 22 and 23, 2017. Participants are responsible for travel expenses.
