The West Virginia University Division of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion presents the Graduados Sherehe, a multicultural graduates ceremony that recognizes African, African American, Latinx, and Native American students through cultural traditions.
Students graduating in May, August or December 2017 who wish to be recognized at this celebration must RSVP by the deadline, However, students with extenuating circumstances can contact Ed Cole at firstname.lastname@example.org to see if additions to the program are still possible.
The Spring 2017 Graduados Sherehe will be held Wednesday April 17, 2017 at 6:30 p.m. at the Mountainlair Ballrooms.
At the Graduados Sherehe, all multicultural students of WVU who are graduating Spring, Summer or Fall 2017 will be individually recognized for their academic and social accomplishments in a special multicultural ceremony that reflects Black, Hispanic/Latinx and Native American cultures.
This ceremony is an opportunity to intentionally highlight WVU's appreciation of diversity by valuing and educating multicultural students and their rich cultural traditions.
Participating graduates will receive a cultural stole reflective of their cultural heritage to wear over their graduation robe during the official commencement ceremonies.
