Join us from October 8 - 13 for Diversity Week! An annual, week-long event sponsored by the Division of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. The events occurring during the week provide opportunities for individuals to come together in unity to celebrate the rich diversity of our University community.

LGBTQ Initiatives

The LGBTQ+ Center has been created to offer support in developing and delivering inclusive programming and outreach initiatives to for WVU students, faculty and staff.

Neil S. Bucklew Award

This award is named in honor of WVU's twenty-first President Neil S. Bucklew. In 1986, he initiated the Social Justice Program, a forerunner to the recently restructured Division of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.

Chancellor's Scholars

The Chancellor’s Scholars Program (CSP) is a centerpiece of West Virginia University’s efforts to increase the recruitment and retention of underrepresented groups as doctoral students.

My Brother's Keeper

My Brother’s Keeper — the Successful M.A.L.E. is a support initiative for WVU men of color.

Colloquium XVII

The Colloquium for Aspiring Underrepresented Doctoral Candidates is designed to promote graduate education at West Virginia University to prospective and current minority graduate students, in particular, from the immediate Appalachian region.

Student Support Initiatives and Collaborations

If you are a student in need of a new and fairly quiet place to study on some evenings and weekends, study space is available at the Division of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, which is located at 1085 Van Voorhis Rd., next to Applebee's on Evansdale Campus.

Graduados Sherehe

The West Virginia University Division of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion presents the Graduados Sherehe, a multicultural graduates ceremony that recognizes African, African American, Latinx, and Native American students through cultural traditions.

Student Diversity Ambassadors

Each year, the Division of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion seeks responsible and model WVU students who understand, embrace, respect and value diversity, ethnic cultures, and new ways of thinking and connecting with current and potential WVU students.
