Don’t Trip (on the missing stair)
4 to 5:50 p.m., Health Sciences South, 7608
Imagine there's a staircase you use every day with a missing step. Each time you come to the step, you're accustomed to stepping over it and reaching the top of the stairs safely. You tell people to watch out for the hazard, but every once in a while, someone gets really hurt. They didn't get the warning, or they forgot. As a prevention method, this warning isn't working. So why don't we just fix the missing stair? And what do we do when the missing stair is a metaphor for a person causing harm in our community? Join the Prevention Team and the Peer Advocates to talk about modes of justice and accountability, bystander intervention, and how we can create safety in our own communities.
