WVU is committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive culture by promoting diversity, inclusion, equality and intercultural and inter-community outreach, and by holding individuals accountable for acts of discrimination, harassment, sexual and domestic misconduct, stalking and retaliation against those seeking redress from the University. It is the duty of the Office of Equity Assurance to protect students and employees of the University from and remedy all forms of discrimination, harassment, sexual and domestic misconduct, and retaliation in accordance with WVU’s non-discrimination statement.

The complaint and investigation process outlines guidelines and procedures for all reports of discrimination, harassment, sexual and domestic misconduct, and stalking at West Virginia University.

Here is a brief guide to help explain the university’s procedures for addressing behavior that is prohibited under Board of Governor's Rule 1.6 and to make the resolution process more transparent.

University Student Conduct and Discipline Policy

There are established written rules, regulations and procedures concerning student conduct and discipline for the main campus of West Virginia University.

The purpose of BOG Rule 6.1 is to encourage West Virginia University students to engage in proactive and intentional efforts to build connections and relationship with their community and sets policy regarding student conduct and discipline.

Keyser and beckley Campuses

Incidents of discrimination, harassment, sexual harassment, sexual misconduct, stalking and retaliation that occur at either WVU Keyser or WVU Beckley are still reported by filing a complaint or by contacting the Title IX Coordinator, James Goins Jr. at 304-293-5600.

Resources specific to Potomac State College and WVU Tech.
